Here, My Voice

Hi!Pitch

>

Hi!Pitch is a game for voice training of hard-of-hearing people. The game is controlled through the voice of the player; the pitch of the voice is translated into the position of a small bird. Players have to steer the bird through the gaps in a sequence of portals coming from the right of the screen, making sure the bird does not collide with the walls of the portals. The game does not use any sound and focuses on providing a visual representation of the pitch of the player.

The game serves both as a training as well as an assessment tool. Throughout the play-sessions, data are collected that show how the player performs over time and across different degrees of difficulty. The game was developed for the “Here, My Voice” arts intervention and clinical study, to have a comparable performance scale over the course of the study as well as a training tool for the participants.
